Multicap Tasmania's Day Service program provides training opportunities for individuals with disabilities to meet identified Short and Long
term goals. Training sessions are organised with assistance from individuals and may include:
Cooking and Learning about Health & Wellbeing – To assist people to develop skills in food handling while providing an awareness of personal safety
and general wellbeing through developing healthy menus and preparing and cooking meals.
Communication skills – To develop individual’s communication skills to create opportunities for every person to have a say in all aspect of
their chosen lifestyle, to express opinions, make choices and have access to living the outcomes of those choices, to be heard through the provision of
communication aids and equipment.
Music Therapy - A Music therapist is employed to introduce variety of musical activities and music types that facilitates enjoyment of music and social interactions.
Fitness, sport and recreation - A variety of activities are individually developed to support physical fitness, co-ordination, team work and motor skills while meeting the individual needs and interests.
Arts & crafts - Tutors are employed to assist individuals to identify self expression and creativity through the use of different mediums and textures.
Life Skills – To provide individuals with opportunities to participate in a range of activities that will assist in developing skills, increase independence and promote inclusion into the local community.
Community interactions and development - To foster community partnerships and links while using generic venues and services.
