COVID-19 – What we are doing to minimise risk

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is impacting the world right now. As a part of the community and a support provider for some of the most vulnerable we are treating the situation very seriously.

We want to assure you that Multicap Tasmania’s first priority is the safety and wellbeing of our clients and employees. We are monitoring the situation as it unfolds and are taking proactive steps to keep everyone as safe and supported as possible

As an immediate action we have decided to cancel our upcoming School Holiday Program and limit programs that take clients out into close proximity with the public. We are continuing to provide programs in our community hubs so there are still so many opportunities for skill development and socialising for group funded clients.

At this stage we are operating ‘business as usual’ beyond these program changes. Contingency plans are being reviewed to prepare for potential further developments.

And of course, we’re committed to taking care of our team. We’ve provided them with up-to-the-moment guidance and information so they can keep themselves and their families safe. Sick team members are required to stay home and we’ve connected our people in with key members of our Incident Management Group who will share information and be taking questions 24/7.

Multicap Tasmania always adheres to strict hygiene practices for the health and wellbeing of all. During this time, we are taking additional care to reinforce the importance of personal hygiene, use of personal protective equipment and clean environments. Our people are being provided with the information and resources to apply best practice principles and stay up to date with instructions from health and government authorities.

As things change Multicap Tasmania will continue to keep you updated. If you have any immediate concerns, please contact us – [email protected] or 03 6431 3211.

Multicap Tasmania is committed to providing our clients with the assistance they need. If you need additional support over this period, please reach out.

We are a community and shall remain one through whatever struggles come our way. Reach out, stay connected and stay safe everyone!
