About the role

Our expanding organisation is now seeking a Registered Nurse to lead the competency development and skills of our disability support workforce.  The role will provide the training and assessment of our workforce in medication management and in delivering complex health care plans to our clients.  The role also has scope to monitor and support the health care needs of our clients, particularly those living in our Supported Independent Living properties.

Travel will be required to all Multicap sites.

The ideal applicant will have a current Training and Assessment (TAE) qualification.  If the applicant does not currently possess this qualification, they will be supported to complete as a priority activity following their appointment.

Reporting to the Executive Manager Quality and Practice Leadership, this newly created role will support a large and growing work force who in turn support the needs of our growing client base. 

About you

  • A Registered Nursing qualification and current registration is a requirement of this role

  • A current TAE is highly desirable, if not the desire to complete will be essential

About the role

The Quality and Practice leadership team is looking for a Quality and Compliance Officer assigned the case management responsibilities for services in the Devonport and Launceston regions of the organisation. Your role will be to:

  • Monitor Incidents within your portfolio to ascertain key patterns and concerns and assigning incidents to appropriate stakeholders for follow up and action based on the complexity rating of the incident

  • Work collaboratively onsite with teams and other colleagues to conduct checks, audits and analyse qualitative and quantitative data to determine compliance with the NDIS Practice Standards 

  • Support and contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the quality, risk, and compliance systems across the organisation.  

  • Act as a point of contact for providing internal guidance and expert advice relating to the NDIS Quality and Safeguarding Framework and NDIS Practice Standards.

  • Ensure compliance of our regulatory requirements with the assigned portfolio within the NDIS Practice Standards and NDIS Quality & Safeguarding framework.

  • To provide clients with high-quality support that addresses individual needs and enhanced independence, abilities, community participation and/or quality of life. The employee is expected to operate with: 

  • A high level of commitment 

  • Efficient follow-through of any tasks until completion or as otherwise agreed with by the site coordinator or delegated staff 

  • Consideration, understanding and respect for clients and their families 

  • An understanding of the need for consultation, where relevant, and in collaboration with colleagues, managers, external partners and other staff 

  • An appreciation of the necessity to use initiative and find positive solutions in response to identified needs

We are seeking a highly-skilled and motivated person to lead this critical function of our organisation. This role will suit an organised and driven individual with experience in rostering and scheduling within a complex service delivery, community-based organisation.
This role is at the heart of supporting Multicap Tasmania's effective, high quality, services with a focus on customer satisfaction. 

Duties and responsibilities
  • Rostering shifts across multiple sites within flexible shift times

  • Maintain staff availabilities and rostering standards

  • Contribute creative solutions to ensure service delivery

  • Record and document staff leave

  • Provide daily coordination of service provision for our clients

  • Work cohesively with support staff to provide prompt service delivery

  • Provide after-hours support (on a rostered basis)

  • Understand Industrial Legislation

 

 Essential criteria
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with staff and clients

  • Strong administrative skills including customer service and data entry

  • IT literacy

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask

  • Strong work ethic with a professional and positive mindset

  • Capacity to prioritise, work autonomously and achieve outcomes

  • Proven ability to manage complex problems, managing competing priorities and deadlines while remaining calm and methodical

  • Strong focus on providing quality services to all stakeholders being internal (staff and managers), and external clients (staff)

  • Sound skills across the Microsoft Suite with a key focus on Outlook, Teams and SharePoint.
